About the Blacksmiths Arms
THE BLACKSMITHS ARMS
Believed to be more than 300 years old, the low-roofed public house retains it's oak beams and a particularly splendid fireplace.
It's spring-fed well, historically standing to the rear of the original building, has now been incorporated within a recent extention and is visible through a lighted window in the centre of the Old Well Room. A perfect place to eat and enjoy a piece of local history, why not make a wish!
To the rear of the establihment, is the conservatory offering a breath-taking view over the Lincolnshire Wolds (designated an area of outstanding natural beauty), including a splendid view of Skendleby Hall, the old Church and Church View Cottage, available to rent via the Blacksmiths Arms. A stunning view to enjoy your meal over!
The bar is a cosy area, offering a selection of real ales supplied by local brewers such as Tom Woods and Batemans with various guest beers. The bar also stocks a varied selection of spirits and fine wines. The focal point of the bar is the open fire, surrounded by an ornate fireplace and is the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy a drink.
Adjacent to the bar is the pool room, with additional seating for meals, drinking and socialising. Featuring it's original beams, this room has two fireplaces and a style all of it's own.
The Blacksmiths Arms was voted one of the best Pubs in Britain in the 2009 edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide
